Low Cement Refractory Castable
High Strength | Thermal Shock Resistant | Ideal for Steel, Cement & Petrochemical Industries
Low cement castable is the castable whose CaO content less than 3%, usually the refractory cement dosage is from 3-8%, but high grade cement is needed to ensure the strength of the castable. Comparing to common refractory castable, low cement castable has better performance in high temperature, and require less water, it makes the castable has lower porosity and higher density.
•🟢 Low Cement Formula:CaO content 1–2.5%, minimizing formation of low-melting phases at high temperatures.
•💪 High Strength:Compressive strength ≥80 MPa after drying at 110°C; strength retention >90% after firing at 1600°C.
•🔄 Excellent Thermal Shock Resistance:Withstands ≥100 cycles of 1100°C ↔ water quenching (tested per ASTM C885 standard).
•⏱️ Rapid Dry-Out & Installation:24-hour demolding; ready for service in 72 hours (compared to 7 days for traditional castables).
Typical Applications of Low Cement Refractory Castable:
•🏭Iron & Steel Industry:Working linings of steel ladles, Immersion tubes for RH degassing furnaces
•🏗️Cement Industry:Transition zones of rotary kilns,Throat areas of grate coolers
•⚡Power & Environmental Sector:Cyclone separators in CFB boilers,Waste incinerator linings
•⚗️Petrochemical Industry: Radiant sections of cracking furnaces,Conical zones of gasification units

FAQ:
Q:What is the typical working temperature range?
A:Depending on the alumina content, LCC castables can withstand temperatures from 1400°C to 1700°C, making them suitable for steel ladles, rotary kilns, incinerators, and more.
Q:How does low cement castable resist thermal shock?
A:Thanks to its optimized particle packing and minimal CaO content, LCC offers outstanding thermal shock resistance. It can withstand over 100 cycles of 1100°C to water cooling (per ASTM C885), which is far superior to conventional castables.
Q:What is the drying and curing time for LCC castable?
A:One of the key advantages is fast dry-out:
•Demolding in 24 hours
•Firing or operation in as little as 72 hours
Traditional materials often require 7 days or more.
Q:Can your company supply customized formulas for specific applications?
A:Yes! As a low cement castable manufacturer in China, we offer customized formulations based on your furnace type, working conditions, and service requirements.
Q:How can I order or request a sample?
A:You can contact us directly via our inquiry form or email. We provide:
•Free technical consultation
•Sample testing
